His Excellency Sheikh Khaled bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, emphasized the significant role of the private sector in introducing pioneering projects and qualitative initiatives that complement the government’s efforts and enhance quality of life. He highlighted that such contributions would expedite the achievement of milestones aligned with the comprehensive development goals under the esteemed leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the diligent follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

His Excellency Sheikh Khaled bin Abdulla graced the inaugural ceremony of Nuwah Foundation, an initiative of GFH Financial Group, and its inaugural project, “NAFAS”. The event took place at the Raffles Al Areen Palace Hotel and was attended by dignitaries, ministers, officials, and esteemed guests from both within and outside the Kingdom.

His Excellency noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s private sector receives unwavering support and encouragement to fulfill its role in launching innovative and high-quality projects. These projects are aimed at fostering societal and economic development. The sector is acknowledged as a pivotal force in driving sustainable economic growth, rooted in a commitment to social responsibility and community development.

On this occasion, His Excellency Sheikh Khaled bin Abdulla Al Khalifa extended his gratitude to the leaders of Nuwah, wishing them success in attaining their objectives. Nuwah and its project NAFAS are seen as valuable additions to the Kingdom’s medical and therapeutic tourism sector, enhancing the Al Areen project’s appeal with diverse attractions for various demographics.

Nuwah Foundation is dedicated to forging partnerships that support sustainable development, leveraging the creative industries to spur innovation and foster the prosperity of societies and economies. It focuses on empowering communities in the MENA region through innovative humanitarian projects. NAFAS, a health and psychological care center situated within the Al Areen development, aims to offer comprehensive rehabilitation services addressing both physical and psychological health.

Mr. Hisham Alrayes, Chairman of Nuwah Foundation and CEO of GFH, expressed his profound appreciation to His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister for his presence at the launch. He highlighted that the establishment of Nuwah and the NAFAS project aligns with the group’s commitment to social, environmental, and governance responsibilities. This initiative, developed in collaboration with relevant stakeholders in the public and private sectors, marks a significant step towards impactful projects in Bahrain and beyond.
